APIRC FAQs

What is the Asian and Pacific Islander Resource Center?

The APIRC is a resource center dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for students who identify with the API diaspora, although all students are welcome. The APIRC provides a space for students to study and hangout, a conference room for RCOs to meet, resources like free printing, blue books, and green books, as well as monthly event programs that celebrate different API cultural celebrations or programs that enhance the mental wellbeing of our campus community.

Where is the center located?

Our front desk and main space is located in Sentinel Rock (SR) 102, around the corner from the main dorm entrance of Sentinel Rock. However, we also have a conference room next door in SR 101, where we also offer storage for our API RCOs and a meeting room for organizations to reserve.

What time is the center open?

The APIRC is open from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM from Monday-Friday.

Is the Asian and Pacific Islander Center only for API students?

While the APIRC is a space and resource for Asian and Pacific Islander-identifying students, everyone is welcome at the APIRC. We only ask that you please be respectful of the students in the center and be open-minded.

How can we collaborate with the APIRC?

We are always open to collaborating with other campus RCOs, departments, as well as community organizations outside of UC Merced! Please reach out to apirc@ucmerced.edu for more information on how we can connect about collaboration inquiries.

How can we get involved?

There are many ways you can be involved with the APIRC! We host monthly event programs, and you can find more information on our upcoming events on our Instagram page via @ucmapirc. By utilizing the center space, you are also engaging with the center.
