Vision
The LGBTQ+ Pride Center contributes to a society that fully embraces, accepts, recognizes, and supports the lived experiences and intersecting identities of members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Mission
The UC Merced LGBTQ+ Pride Center provides an inclusive space for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Two-Spirit, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, Intersex, Pansexual, Omnisexual, same gender loving people and ally students, faculty and staff and their intersecting identities to grow, succeed, build community, experience affirmation and empowerment while at UC Merced through the resources, services, programs, advocacy, and events offered by the center.
Values
As the LGBTQ+ Pride Center, we value:
Respect – accepting, embracing and treating someone with human dignity and as your equal regardless of our differences
Intersectionality – the unique way our various identities come together and make us who we are
Education – sharing of knowledge, experiences and self-reflection to bring about deeper understanding
Advocacy –fighting for inclusion of rights, resources, services, and support for a community
