Background

There are over half a million undocumented Black people in the United States.

They are almost 6% of the total undocumented population.

They represent almost 20% of the people facing deportation.

They are one of the most vulnerable groups of undocumented immigrants.

They experience discrimination based on both their race and their citizenship status.

They are 2x more likely to be deported compared to any other undocumented group.

Haitians are the most impacted due to extreme environmental events, but also the political events, causing a major divide.

Most Black undocumented people live in the Red States, making the attainment of education and fundamental rights even harder.

Be there for them when the law is not.

Most of the population is of working age and unmarried; also, the majority have a college education.

Over 80% of undocumented immigrants have an exceptional understanding of the English language, while some even come from countries where English is their native language.
